Release Notes

clipShow Beta 2 includes stability and performance fixes from Beta 1, in addition to simplifying the UI for playlist creation.

New Features:
  • Defaults to "All" on the playback duration setting
  • Eliminated the VMC blue screen when a video is in transition to a new one when in full screen and "All" duration
  • New view that categorizes media by date
  • Less VMC dialog boxes to click thru for when using the playback page
  • Quicker startup time as the media thumbnails are extracted in the background
  • Placing a shortcut to an external media source (networked or local drive) in the C:\Users\YourName\Videos folder or C:\Users\Public\Videos folder will allow for clipShow to index media in those sources

Installation instructions
  • Please be sure to uninstall any previous Beta release (Use the Windows Vista Control Panel to uninstall)
  • Both a x64 and x86 installer is available for this release

Known Issues
  • For the x64 version, the clipShow icon image does not appear in the "Pictures+Video" menu band nor in the Program Library
  • Playlists cannot be removed from within the clipShow UI. To remove playlists, open the "C:\ProgramData\clipShow\MediaPlaylists" folder and remove the playlist XML file. This will be addressed in a future release

How to disable video fade-in/out
If you wish to not have your clips fade in and out during playback, follow these steps (also make sure Media Center is not running):
  1. Open the C:\ProgramData\clipShow folder.
  2. Using Notepad or your favorite Xml editor, open the Settings.xml file.
  3. Locate the UseSettings attribute, and set the value from true to false.

Special thanks to DaveV for his assistance on testing.
