Release Notes

Version 2.3 provides more updates to the UI and adds a new 'group media by same day' feature. Please note that this plug-in is targeted for Microsoft Windows 7 exclusively.

New Features

  • Homegroup integration - clipShow will include media found in your Windows 7 Homegroup.
  • Windows Home Server integration (PP3) - clipShow will allow you to view and create playlists from your Video media stored on your Windows Home Server (please see WHS note below regarding required Power Pack).
  • Media timeline view - clipShow will organize your media regardless of physical location by timeline, with most recent media displayed first.
  • Quick filtering - clipShow provides a quick way to filter your media by year or month, as well as apply search criteria to filter down to a specific list of media
  • Quick playlist creation - clipShow allows for a quick playlist to be created based upon a specific year, month or search criteria. In addition, playlists created within clipShow can be saved as an external ASX playlist file that can be played within the Media Center shell
  • Multi-media format support - clipShow supports the playback of all media formats supported in Windows 7 (including AVCHD file formats).
  • Extender support - clipShow is supported for all current Windows 7 Media Center extenders (XBOX, LinkSys, HP)

Important Note: To ensure the plug-in can access your media on external drives, be sure to associate the source media folder with the Videos Virtual Library by right-mouse clicking on the folder and selecting Include in library->Videos.

Windows Home Server Important Note: This version of clipShow requires that Power Pack 3 Beta be installed on the WHS. The Windows 7 client PC requires that the Windows Home Server console and Windows Media Center Connector applications be installed for the plug-in to recognize the WHS on the local network.

Note that this build (1101) addresses an issue with media files on WHS and properly sorts grouped media.
